Hazel L. Beardmore, age 87, of New Albin, Iowa, died Saturday, January 24, 1987 at Thornton Manor Nursing Home in Lansing, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 27 at Mount Hope Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Milton Kading officiating. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Haugen-Roble Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Ralph Grotegut, Robert Bulman, Curtis Beardmore, Lloyd Dehning, Dale Denstad, and Harold Knight.

Hazel was born August 31, 1899 in Lansing, Iowa to John R. and Sophie (Haroldson) Johnson. She married Arthur Beardmore on June 29, 1920. He died in November of 1976. She farmed with her husband in the English Bench area where they lived all their married life before retiring and moving to New Albin, Iowa. She graduated from Lansing High School in 1917 and attended Upper Iowa University. She taught for three years at English Bench. She was a member of the Mount Hope Presbyterian Church in rural New Albin.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters, and three brothers.

Surviving is a daughter, Shirley Lynn of Woodstock, Virginia. * Uncertain if this means Lynn is her middle name of if Lynn is her married name.*
