Laura A. (Schnuelle) Ihde died Saturday, June 13, 1987 at Elkader Care Center, Elkader, Iowa, following a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 1 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa. Rev. David Palm officiating. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa. Schultz Funeral Home, Monona, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were James Buerger, William Ohloff, Donald Fields, Roger Winters, Bryce Ruroden, and Oliver Doerring.

Laura A. was born January 18, 1907 in rural Allamakee County, Iowa near Postville to parents Simon and Elizabeth (Heins) Schnuelle. She was baptized March 26, 1907 and confirmed September 5, 1920 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa. She received her education at Highland School, rural Postville. On December 18, 1929 she married Lewis Ihde at the Lutheran parsonage in Postville. The couple had 3 sons and 2 daughters. They farmed near Castalia, Iowa until retiring in 1975. They moved to their present home in Monona, Iowa in November 1975.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 2 sons, Larry Ihde, and Lorenz Ihde; 3 sisters, Elsie Colvin, Clara Schnuelle, and Vila Hermann and 2 brothers, Fritz Schnuelle and William Schnuelle.

Surviving is a son, Leslie Ihde and his wife, Laura of Monona, Iowa; 2 daughters, Mrs. Orville (Rosalia) Ehde of Waukon, Iowa and Mrs. Duane (Helen) Ruroden of Monona, Iowa; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Clarence Schnuelle of Waukon, Iowa and 3 sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Marie) Ihde, Anna Schnuelle, and Lydia Schnuelle, all of Ossian, Iowa.
