Margaret M. Erding, age 74, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, died Friday, April 17, 1987 at St. Francis Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Monday, April 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius Catholic Church, Cherry Mound, Allamakee County, Iowa. Father Donald Hutchinson officiated. Casket bearers were David, Larry and Donald Wolfe, Lyle Erding, Joseph Smith, and Jeff Erding. Burial was in the Cherry Mound Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Margaret was born January 16, 1913 in Allamakee County to Edward and Frances (Parchim) Heim. On July 26, 1933 she married Firmin M. Erding at Cherry Mound. She was a member of St. Pius Rosary Society at Cherry Mound Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy, a brother John Parchim and a sister Genevieve.

Surviving are her husband, a son Charles Erding, 3 daughters, Donna Smith, Dianne Wolfe, and Kay Barry; a sister, Florence Johnston; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
