Funeral services for Sheldon Hall were held Tuesday, July 29, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. The Rev. David H. Palm officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Grand Meadow Cemetery, rural Luana, Iowa. Casket bearers were Don Bush, Jerry Davis, John C. Martens, Emil Schultz, Jr., Randy Sebastian, and Duane Thompson. Honorary casket bearers were Carlton Collins, Ralph Hanson, Leo Kneeskern, Lester Marlow, Robert T. Penrod, Upton Peck, Larry Reed, Clarence Storla, Eugene Suddendorf, and Jack Whitehead.

Sheldon Alva Hall, son of Charles W. and Alvira (Sample) Hall, was born January 21, 1901 in Washington County, near Marietta, Ohio. He died Saturday, July 26, 1986 at Community Memorial Hospital. He was baptized April 12, 1949 in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa and confirmed there on April 15, 1949 by the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig. On November 2, 1929 he was married to Myrtle Davis who died in August of 1947. He was married to Florence (Sebastian) Schutte on October 18, 1949.

Sheldon came to Postville in 1920 where he farmed for a few years. In 1940 he was employed by the Allamakee-County Electric Cooperative (REC) as a lineman until 1966 when he retired. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Brotherly Love Lodge No. 204 A.F. and A.M. and the Order of Eastern Star, Postville Chapter 238.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Myrtle, two brothers, Wire Hall *as listed in the obit* and James Hall, and three sisters, Goldie Adams, Roxie Long, and Rhea Cornell.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; a step-daughter, Carol Jones of LaCrescent, Minnesota; 2 step-granddaughters, Mrs. Paul (Danette) Czech and Floshelle Durnan; 2 brothers, Dale Hall, and Murrell Hall and a sister, Mrs. Perry (Hilda) McClinsey, all of Akron, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
