Bernard H. Schulte, age 64, of Dorchester, Iowa died Saturday, November 22, 1986 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Services were held Tuesday, November 25 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's, Hanover with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Dan Fitzgerald, Frances Berns, Rick Schulte, Tom Tierney, Dan Schulte, Jan Schulte, Lyle Schulte, and Mike Schulte. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Gallagher, Bud Molitor, John Larkin, Mike Burke, Dennis Byrnes, Dennis Bresnahan, Pat Tierney, and Gary Schulte.

Bernard was born December 5, 1921 in Dorchester, Iowa to Henry T. and Mary (Connor) Schulte. On May 8, 1942 he married Virginia Fitzgerald at St. Mary's, Hanover. He was a member of St. Mary's, Hanover and a lifelong farmer.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a son Bernard at birth, a sister, Theresa and two brothers Lawrence Schulte and Clarence Schulte.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia; 3 daughters, Mrs. Tom (Janet) Batson of Eldridge,Iowa, Jovce Schulte of Davenport, Iowa, and Mrs. Dave (Joan) Zrostlik of Garner, Iowa; 5 sons, Eugene Schulte and Dick Schulte of Waukon, Iowa, Steve Schulte of Davenport, Iowa, Tim Schulte of Center Point, Iowa, and Keith Schulte of Dorchester, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Mary Gavin of Waukon, Iowa and 4 brothers, Frank Schulte of Dorchester, Iowa and Hank Schulte, Vince Schulte, and Joe Schulte, all of Waukon, Iowa.
