John J. Kroack, Jr., age 93, of New Albin, Iowa died Friday October 18, 1985 in his home. Services were held Tuesday, October 22 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin. The Rev. Robert P. Rahe officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

John was born February 5, 1892 in Freeburg, Minnesota to John J.,Sr. and Louise (Brenner) Kroack. He married Pearl Kubitz on April 28, 1915 in Hokah, Minnesota. She died March 16, 1982. He had worked as a carpenter in the New Albin area.

He is survived by two sons, Kolman Kroack of Brookings, South Dakota and Merlin Kroack of Seattle, Washington; a daughter Mary Hanson of Phoenix, Arizona; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and a brother Ed Kroack of Waukon, Iowa.
