Waukon resident Truman Johnson, age 74, died Saturday September 21, 1985 at the Cresco Care Center, Cresco, Iowa. Funeral services are set for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 24 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Lands officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Pallbearers will be Melvin, Ricky, and Robert Johnson, Jerry Starkey, Ken Sweet, and Ivan Smith.

A laborer, Johnson was born in Waukon on January 14, 1911, a son of Melvin and Deena (Severson) Johnson. He attended rural schools in the area. *The obituary does not list the name of his wife.*

He was preceded in death by a son Gaylord Johnson and a brother Vernon Johnson.

Survivors include 5 daughters; Mrs. Kenneth (Debbie) Sweet, Kim Johnson, and Mrs. Jerry (Dixie) Starkey, all of Waukon, Iowa and Jackie Johnson and Mrs.Leo (Julie) Fireble of Dubuque, Iowa; 4 sons, Melvin and Ricky Johnson of Waukon, Iowa and Robert Johnson and Jamie Johnson of Dubuque, Iowa; and 13 grandchildren
