Leonard M. Crowley, age 77, of New Albin, Iowa died Thursday, August 22, 1985 in Thornton Manor Nursing Home, Lansing, Iowa. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing was in charge of arrangements. Funeral services were held Monday August 26 at 10 a.m. at the New Albin Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tom Mattson officiating. Military rites were held by the New Albin Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5603. Burial was in Buckingham Cemetery in Traer, Iowa. Pallbearers were Marce Kelly, Ray Whalen, Cleon Sires, John Crowley, Delbert Fink, and Forrest Sires.

Leonard was born December 25, 1907 in New Albin, Iowa to James and Bridget (Thornton) Crowley. He married Grace Fleming on June 13, 1959. He worked for the Waterloo Business Machine Company in Waterloo, Iowa for 24 years. Following his retirement, he and his wife returned to New Albin in 1971. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers. Survivors are his wife, Grace, and his sister Zeta Anderson of Sauk City, Wisconsin and nieces and nephews.
