A memorial mass was to take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa for William F. Tobin, age 83 of Waukon, Iowa, who died Tuesday, November 5, 1985 at Veterans Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Larry Duenas was celebrant of the mass. The deceased donated his body to the University of Iowa for research purposes. Arrangements were handled by Martin Funeral Home.

William was a state highway employee for many years. He was born in Chicago, Illinois April 10, 1902, the son of William and Kathryn (Gough) Tobin. He received his high school education through the Area I school in Calmar, Iowa. He was active in the Waukon Toastmasters and the Waukon Golf and Country Club. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church. He and Isabelle Narmonta were married in Chicago on July 26, 1926.

Isabella survives as do 2 sons, Donald "Red" Tobin of Waukon, Iowa and William Tobin of Muncie, Indiana; a daughter, Mrs. Loren (Evelyn) Green of Postville, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a brother Harold Tobin and a half-brother John, both of Chicago, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dolores Tobin and a sister, Margaret.
