Cletus John Kelly, age 68, of Waterville, Iowa, died Monday July 15, 1985 at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Thursday morning, July 18 at St. Pius Church at Cherry Mound, Allamakee County, Iowa. The Rev. Donald Hutchinson conducted the 10:30 a.m. services and burial was in the St. Pius Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Lester Busness, Leo McCormick, Joseph Norton, William Mitchell, Tade Kelly, and Mervin Hilleshiem. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Asleson, Joseph Curtin, Richard Hermanson, Sr., Joseph Troendle, Neil Bresnahan, and Allen Leiran. Hanson Funeral Home, Waukon, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.

Cletus was a retired county employee and farmer. He was born October 9, 1916 in Waterville, Iowa to Francis and Margaret (Heim) Kelly. He lived in the Waterville area all his life and was a member of St. Pius Church, Cherry Mound, where he and his second wife, Mary (Johnson) Weipert were married on February 27, 1976.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred (Busness) Kelly and an infant daughter, Helen Ann Kelly.

Surviving him are his wife, Mary; sons and daughters, Rodney Kelly of Marion, Iowa, Mrs. Richard (Linda) Hermanson, Jr. of Waterville, Iowa, Mrs. Dick (Colleen) Ulrich of Clarksville, Iowa, Jeffrey Kelly of Waterville, Iowa, and Wayne Kelly of Waukon, Iowa; step-children, Charles Weipert of Waterville, Iowa, Mrs. James (Peggy) Allison of Waukon, Iowa and Curtis Weipert of Waterloo, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Edward Kelly of Montezuma, Iowa, Carl Kelly of Waukon, Iowa, and Gerald Kelly of Houston, Minnesota; 2 sisters, Mrs. Nick (Geraldine) Wagner of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, and Mrs. Freda Kelley of Snohomish, Washington.
