Gladys M. Huffman, age 87,formerly of Rossville, Iowa, died Thursday, December 5, 1985 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa where she had been a resident. Funeral services were held at Martin Funeral Home Saturday, December 7 at 1:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. James Jacobson. Burial was in the Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, Iowa. Pallbearers were Donovan Mead, Dean Montour, Steve Montour, Alan Serbousek, Craig Everman, Troy Everman, Dan Straate, and Russell Straate.

A daughter of Albertis and Catherine Virginia (Dunn) Leas, she was born in Paint Creek Township, Allamakee County, Iowa on December 17, 1897. She would have been 88 years old in 12 days. She and Lee Huffman were married in Waukon, Iowa on April 4, 1914. He died April 16, 1982.

She was preceded in death by a son Gene Garwood Huffman; a grandson, Randy Everman; 3 brothers, John Dunn Leas, Roy Leas, and William Addison Leas; and 4 sisters, Mary Suzannah Leas, Martha Jane Graham, Eula May Klees, and Carrie Belle Scott.

She is survived by 5 daughters: Mrs. Neva V. Mead of Center Junction, Iowa, Mrs. Harvey (Evelyn Imogene) Montour of Monona, Iowa, Mrs. Leonard (Lela Virginia "June") Serbousek of Center Junction, Iowa, Mrs. Harold (Betty Lea) Everman of Postville, Iowa and Mrs. Harry (Shirley Darlene) Straate; a son, Francis Gordon Huffman of Marion, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild;and a brother Harold Leslie Leas of Monona, Iowa.
