Mrs. Hazel Robey, age 92, of Redding, California, died Sunday, August 27, 1978 in a hospital in Redding, California. She was a former Rossville, Iowa resident. Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 31, 1978 at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel, in Waukon, Iowa. Rev. Robert Lueck of the Rossville Presbyterian Church officiated at the services. Pallbearers were William Ohloff, Martin Heller, Francis Lonning, Charles Powell, David Powell, and Kevin Powell. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa.

Hazel was born July 23, 1886 in Allamakee County to James and Hulda (Walters) Henderson. She married Ray C. Robey in Rossville, Iowa on December 20, 1905. Mr. Robey died July 10, 1960. She moved to Redding, California to live near her daughter and family. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door while living in California.

Hazel was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, 6 brothers: Clarence, Will, Collen, Wayne, Rollo, and Sydney Henderson, and 2 sisters, Ethel and Grace.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Boyd (Coila) Woodmansee of Shingletown, California, Mrs. Otto (Irma) Olson of Castalia, Iowa, and Mrs. Harvey (Joy) Powell of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and 1 son, Dale Robey of Waukon, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
