Contributor: Connie Ellis (Robey Researcher)Former Allamakee County resident, Coila Woodmansee, age 79, of Cottonwood, California died Tuesday, May 6, 1985* in San Francisco, California. Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Waukon, Iowa on Saturday, May 24 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Olson officiating.
Coila was born December 22, 1906 to Ray Carlton and Hazel (Henderson) Robey in Paint Creek Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. She taught in the rural school and at Waterville Consolidated school. She married Boyd Woodmansee on June 20, 1928 in Waukon, Iowa. They lived in Waukon-Decorah, Iowa area until 1943 when they moved to California. He died May 1983 in California.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Sharp of San Francisco, California, 3 sons: James Woodmansee of Cottonwood, California, Loren Woodmansee of Castro Valley, California, and Dennis Woodmansee of Thousand Oaks, California; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Robey of Waukon, Iowa and 2 sisters, Irma Olson of Waukon, Iowa and Joy Powell of Fort Dodge, Iowa.
