Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Lillian T. King, age 76, died Tuesday, June 28, 1988 in Tweeten Lutheran Nursing Home Spring Grove, Minnesota. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 1 in St.Peter's United Church of Christ in New Albin, Iowa. The Rev. Daniel Jensen officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Haugen Roble Funeral Home, Caledonia, Minnesota was in charge of arrangements.
She was born August 3, 1911 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Amos and Minnie (Olson) Gilbertson. On August 29, 1929 she married Leo King in Waukon, Iowa. He died December 10, 1977 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Spring Grove High School. After living in Spring Grove, she moved to rural New Albin, Iowa. She taught piano and organ in the tri-state area for more than 50 years. She played the organ for Crest Supper Club, Caledonia, Minnesota and Riv Aire Night Club in Lansing, Iowa. She was a member and the organist for St.Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters, and two great-grandsons.
Surviving are a son, Barton King of Los Angeles, California; a daughter, Glenda Neumann of New Albin; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Walter Gilbertson of Pine River, Minnesota and Tillman Gilbertson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and a sister, Gladys Heitzman of St.Paul, Minnesota.
