Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Harry A. Nelson, age 82, of Reno, Minnesota died Saturday, February 11, 1989 at his farm in Crooked Creek Township, Houston, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Monday February 13 at the New Albin Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Rolf T. Storlie officiated. Burial was in the New Albin City Cemetery. Haugen-Roble Funeral Home of Caledonia, Minnesota was in charge of arrangements.
Harry was born September 16, 1906 in Boyd County, Nebraska to Ake and Christina (Dahl) Nelson. He attended rural schools in Jefferson Township, Minnesota. On June 7, 1933 he married Selma Breeser in Brownsville, Minnesota. He had been a resident of Houston County, Minnesota since 1912.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers, and a grandson.
Surviving are his wife, Selma; a son Arvid Nelson of Houston, Minnesota; 4 daughters, Gloria Nelson at home, Hartha Jackson of Santee, California, Grace Staggemeyer of Caledonia, Minnesota, and Linda Meyer of Eitzen, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Moe of New Albin, Iowa.
