Funeral services were held Friday, January 15 at Turner Chapel West in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for Ronald R. Hangartner of Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Roland Hischke of Trinity Lutheran Church officiated at the 1:30 p.m. services and burial was in the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Casket bearers were Don Bakke, Butch Johnson, Jack Campbell, Roger Martin, Tom Collins, Larry McGuire, Jerry Guge, and James Winke.

Ronald died Tuesday, January 12, 1988 in the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa after a long illness. He was 51 years old.

He was born April 3, 1936 in Waukon, Iowa to Rolland and Hildegarde (Frailing) Hangartner. On November 28, 1954 he married Joyce Bakke in Waukon, Iowa. He was assistant sales manager for 17 years for the Herman M. Brown Company prior to failing health and early retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; 4 sons, Rod and Todd Hangartner, both of Dallas, Texas, Steve Hangartner of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Tim Hangartner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his parents and two brothers, Jerry Hangartner of Golden Valley, Minnesota and Stan Hangartner of San Jose, California.

NOTE: In the obituary of Rolland Hangartner, Ronald's father, it stated that Ronald had died in December of 1987. That information is incorrect. Ronald did die on January 12, 1988.
