Jeane Harris

A graveside memorial service for Jeane Harris was held Saturday, September 26, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Postville Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Hupp officiated.

Jeane Marie Harris, the daughter of Virgil and Florence (Myhre) Harris, was born June 8, 1950 at Postville, Iowa. She died Thursday, September 10, 1998, in Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach, Florida. She had reached the age of 48 years, three months, and two days.

Jeane was injured and her dog, Peppie, was killed as they were crossing Nova Road in Daytona Beach, Florida, on Thursday, September 10, 1998.

She attended school in Bloomingdale, Illinois and was graduated from the Medinah, Illinois High School. She was married to Norman Clair and two sons were born to this union.

Jeane graduated from the Chicago State University with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She had been employed as a dental hygienist.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence, who died in 1952, as the result of a house fire near Monona, Iowa, three brothers, James Alyn Harris, Richard Lee Harris, and John Fredrick Harris, and her stepmother, Ardell Jean Harris.

She is survived by two sons, John Clair of Bunnell, Florida and Norman Clair of Korea, her father, Virgil Harris of Luana, Iowa, formerly of West Chicago, Illinois, her stepmother, Mary Ann Harris of West Chicago, Illinois, several aunts and uncles, including Beulah (Boots) Meyer Schultz of Postville, with whom Jeane lived for several years following the death of Jeane's mother. Also surviving are several cousins.
