Ruth G. Dravis, age 90, of Waukon, Iowa died August 12, 1988 at the Good Samaritan Center in Wauko, Iowa. She was born August 15, 1897 in Waukon to Louis T. and Helen (Kolsrud) Hermanson. She married Alfred Dravis on June 27, 1925 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She attended the Waukon High School and lived in Waukon, Iowa, Moline, Illinois, and Kokomo, Indiana. She was a rural Allamakee County schoolteacher, homemaker, and worked at the Waukon State bank for 25 years. Ruth as a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, various church groups and WA-TAN-YE civic club.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Dravis of Springfield, Illinois, and Robert Dravis of East Moline, Illinois; a sister, Helen, Mrs. John Meierkord of Waukon, Iowa; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, a brother Theodore Hermanson and one sister, Thelma Baltzer.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 15 at Martin Funeral Chapel. Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiated. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Loren Rodman, Arlyn Pladsen, Jerry Troendle, Fred Meierkord, Richard Bieber, and James Bieber.
