Alton G. Erickson, age 76, of Iowa City, Iowa died Sunday, April 9, 1989 in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15 in the dining room of Iowa City Senior Center by the Rev. Roy Nilsen. His body was donated to University of Iowa Department of Anatomy. George L. Gay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Alton was born March 18, 1913 in Waterville, Iowa, Allamakee County. *The obituary does not list the names of his parents.* He worked for Ewer's Footwear for 12 years and later for the University of Iowa in the East Hall Film Library. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Senior Center Chorus. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Syndy Conger of Macomb, Illinois; three brothers, E.Dale Erickson of Iowa City, Iowa, Merlin Erickson of Waterloo, Iowa, and Vernon Erickson of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; four sisters, Carol Ragsdale of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Ruth Davis of Madison, Wisconsin, Dorothy Kabat of Bangor, Wisconsin, and Lorna Conners of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
