Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Gene Alton Bulman, son of the late Jason and Margaret (Amelon) Bulman, was born May 12, 1908 in Allamakee County. He died March 25, 1989 at the age of 80 at Grand Lake Manor Nursing Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 28 at St.Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairland, Oklahoma with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in Fairland.
On June 30, 1931 he married Laura Johnson of Duluth, Minnesota. They lived in the Calmar, Iowa area until 1952. He and his family moved to Kansas City, Kansas where he was a maintenance worker for the North Kansas City, Kansas school system. He retired in 1972 and moved to Afton, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two sisters, Carrie and Leona; two brothers John Bulman and Howard Bulman, and a half-brother, Loren Schieff.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Doris) Adams and Mrs. Ralph (Ann) Spence of Kansas City, Missouri; five sons, Thomas Bulman of Afton, OKlahoma, Clement Bulman of Raysville, Missouri, Ralph Bulman of Kansas City, Kansas, and James Bulman of Shawnee, Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Edwin (Grace) Wenig of Waukon, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
