Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Lifetime area resident Kermit A. Sunderman, age 77, of Waukon, Iowa died Sunday January 1, 1989 at St.Francis Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Wednesday January 4, 1989 at St.Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Ed Lechtenberg conducting the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Harlan Martin, William Mathis, Terrance Peyton, Bill Farley, Kenneth Troendle, and Pat McMillan.
Kermit was born July 19, 1911 in Lansing to Frederick and Lydia (Failes) Sunderman. He attended Allamakee County schools. On June 24,1939 he married Dorothy Duggan at St.Patrick's. He worked as a truck driver for many years for Bob McDonald Dairy and as a lime spreader for 45 years at Cooney Construction. He was a member of St.Pat's.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Irving and Ralph Sunderman.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mary Lou Buege of Evansdale, Iowa and a sister, Bernieta Hopewell of Budd Lake, New Jersey.
