Funeral services were held Friday, January 20 for James Maynard Hall, age 81, who died Tuesday January 17, 1989 at his home in Waukon. The 11 a.m. services were held at St.Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Don Plamondon officiating. Burial was in Mt.Olivet Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were James and John Pladsen, Ambrose Welch, Louis Goltz, Frank Lonning, and Paul Promnitz.
James was born June 1, 1907 in Spring Valley, Minnesota to Charles and Mary (Solon) Hall. He attended Filmore County Schools. He grew up in Filmore County and moved to Waukon, Iowa area around 1930. On May 22, 1945 he married Violetta Regan in Waukon. She died May 28, 1961. He farmed in Jefferson Township and was a member of St.Patrick's and Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Butler and a brother John Hall.
Surviving are a son, Mike Hall of rural Waukon, a daughter Mrs. John (Mary) Pladsen of Waukon, Iowa; five grandchildren, two brothers, Kenneth Hall of Waukon and Robert Hall of Portland, Oregon, and a sister, Ruth Waters of Marysville, California.
