Funeral services for Norman Duvel were held Sunday, July 10 at 1:30 p.m. at Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. The Rev. Curtis Webster officiated and burial was in Salem cemetery, rural Waukon.

Norman Albert Duvel, son of Albert and Minnie (Klein) Duvel, was born Dec. 26, 1929 in Ludlow township, Allamakee county. He died July 7 in Ludlow township, rural Postville.

He attended Ludlow school number 4. April 30, 1960, he married to Gloria McNally at Forest Mills church by Rev. Webster. They lived in Postville and Castalia for several years, then moved to their present home where they have lived for the past 15 years. Norman was employed by Hygrade Food Products for 17 years and then by Iowa Turkey Products.

Surviving besides his wife Gloria are two sons, Raymond and Richard, a daughter Arlene, and two brothers, Lloyd and Orville, all of Postville, and a sister Mrs. Vernon (Margaret) Kruger of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Irvin, and a sister Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Kugel.

Casket bearers were Dwayne Brink, Virgil Kugel, Jim Duvel, Wayne Kleppe, Dean Brink and Ronnie Duvel.
