Rites Held For Albert Duvel

Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 28, 2 p.m. at the Salem Reformed Church in Ludlow for Albert Duvel who died on Christmas day at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville. The Rev. Clausing officiated; burial was in the Ludlow cemetery.

Albert Duvel, son of the late Henry and Anna Menke Duvel, was born September 19, 1893 in Ludlow and passed away on December 25, 1961 at the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, having attained the age of 68 years. He was baptized in Zalmona Presbyterian Church and attended the Ludlow rural schools. He was confirmed in Salem Church.

He was united in marriage to Minnie Klein in August, 1914. Together they farmed in Ludlow until he retired from farming in 1955.

Mr. Duvel was preceded in death by his wife on October 31, 1946 and a son, Erwin.

Surviving are two daughters, Arlene, Mrs. Robert Kugel, Ludlow, and Margaret, Mrs. Vernon Kruger of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Lloyd of Ludlow and Norman and Orville of Postville; 13 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and William; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Klein and Mrs. Esther Klocke, all of Waukon; plus other relatives and friends.
