Funeral services for Mardella Reckward were held Thursday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa. Rev. Julius L. Peterson and Rev. Charles W. Miller officiated. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Craig Bodley, Thomas Hogan, Kenneth Everman, Kenneth Wendel, Eugene Szabo, and Fred Wilker.

Mardella A. Reckward, daughtrer of Fred and Louise (Appel) Reincke, was born February 19, 1919 at Monona, Iowa. She died Monday, June 19, 1989 in the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, Iowa. She was baptized March 18, 1919 at Monona, Iowa and confirmed August 21, 1932 at Castalia, Iowa. She attended the rural schools near her home.

On October 10, 1940 she married Wilbur Reckward at the parsonage in Monona. They lived in the Castalia, Ossian, Gunder, and Waukon areas. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Arno Reincke. Surviving are her husband, Wilbur, 2 brothers, Delbert Reincke, Evansdale, Iowa and Frederick Reincke, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Melbert (LaVerna) Schopp, Castalia, Iowa and Mrs. (Arlene) Lundt, Decorah, Iowa.
