Funeral services were held at non Saturday, November 25, 1989 for Russell J. Halvorson, 26, of Matteson, Iowa. The services were held at St.Mary's Catholic Church, East Dubuque, IL. Burial was in the East Dubuque Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home of East Dubuque, IL in charge of arrangements. He died Monday, November 20, 1989 as a result of a traffic accident near New Lenox, Iowa.

He was born June 3, 1963 in Dubuque, Iowa to Richard and Bernadette "Bernie" (Walleser) Halvorson and graduated in 1981 from Wahlert high School, Dubuque, where he was active in sports. On November 30, 1984 he married Nancy L. Davis in Dubuque. He was a member of the infant of Prague Catholic Church in Flossmoor and the Olympia Fields County Club in Homewood. He was a construction worker.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Russell, Jr. and Joseph Halvorson, both at home; his parents of East Dubuque, IL; three sisters, Mrs. Dennis (Renee) LeGrand, Toxane and Rhonda Halvorson, all of East Dubuque; five brothers, Richard of Lenexa, KS, Randy of Dubuque, Robert of Apple Valley, MN, and Roger and Ryan Halvorson, both of East Dubuque; maternal grandparents, Stanley and Velma (Knickerbocker) Walleser of DeSoto, WI and paternal grandparents, Herbert and Lorine (Johnson) Halvorson of Lansing, Iowa.
