Alice Johnson, 90, widow of Pastor Henry Johnson, died Tuesday, December 5, 1989 at her home in Ellsworth, Iowa. Private family graveside services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Cemetery east of Kamrar, Iowa. Memorial services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Community Church, Kamrar with Dr. Craig Bex, Pastor Gerald Nabor, Pastor Ken Remer and Pastor Lloyd Weiland officiating.

Alice Greenfield, daughter of Henry and Harmina (Lente) Greenfield, was born March 26, 1899 on a farm east of Kamrar. She was educated in rural schools in the Kamrar area, and December 14, 1921 married Pastor Henry Johnson at the home of her parents.

They served the West Friesland Presbyterian Church near Ackley for 23 years. In June 1943 they moved to the Waukon, Iowa area where they served the Zalmona Presbyterian Church until their retirement in January 1961 when they moved to Ellsworth.

Pastor Johnson served as the interim minister for the Albia Presbyterian Church, Albia, Iowa, for four and one-half years. He died April 13, 1986. Alice was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar.

Surviving are a son Elvin of Ellsworth, three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Simon and Eilt*Note:that is what is listed on the clipping* Greenfield; two sisters, Jennie Greenfield, and Minnie Welp, also one brother and one sister in infancy.
