Funeral Services For Irving Deering Here On Monday

Irving Charles Deering was born June 1, 1907 in Post township, Allamakee county, the son of Mort and Bertha (Uhl) Deering. He passed away suddenly on Friday, April 5, 1957 at Reedsburg, Wisconsin at the age of 49 years, 10 months and four days.

He was baptized in the Christian faith in the Bethel Evangelical United Brethren Church in infancy. He was confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on July 19, 1942, and remained an active member of the Church until his death.

He was married to Leeone Zieman on June 1, 1935. To this union were born four children, Charles, Robert, Ann and Jane.

He is survived by his wife and four children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mort Deering of Postville and three sisters, Dorothy (Arthur) Fisher of Cicero, Illinois, Esther (Kenneth) Schultz of Postville, and Marjorie (W. B.) Wallis of Seattle, Washington.

Besides his Church associations, he was very active in community life, serving on the Postville Creamery Board, the Farmer's Co-operative Board and as president of the Fayette County Holstein Breeders Association.

Services were conducted at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on Monday, April 8, 1957 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
