Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Birdie Durno

Funeral services were conducted at the Schutte Funeral home Friday at 10 a.m. for Mrs. Birdie P. Durno, 73, who passed away at her home here Wednesday, October 18, following a heart attack.

The rites were conducted by Rev. Walter T. Martin of the Community Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Linwood cemetery at Dubuque.

Mrs. Birdie Platt Durno, daughter of Isaac and Mary Platt, was born December 13, 1877 at Dubuque. Mrs. Durno died October 18, 1950.

She was married to Edward Durno in 1903 at Dubuque. The couple moved to Postville in 1903. Mr. Durno purchased a hardware store at that time and continued the business until 1937 which was the year he passed away. Mrs. Durno was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Leon Ottenheimer and Mrs. Sadie Wilkinson, both of Chicago.
