Leslie Carl Leithold, 87, of Waukon, died Monday, March 1, 1999 at the Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4 at Martin Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Groe officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Leslie was born October 25, 1911 to Henry and Amanda (Plank) Leithold on their farm in Ludlow Township, Allamakee County. He attended Ludlow #2 rural school. A farmer most of his life, he worked for himself and for other area farmers. Leslie also did tree trimming in the area. He had lived at the Waukon Living Center before becoming a resident of the Good Samaritan Center. Leslie was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

There are no surviving relatives. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Lawless, Loretta and Vernie Leithold, and four brothers, Arthur, Clarence, Harold, and Leonard.
Casket bearers were Duane, Dan, Doug, and Butch Dahlgren, Roger Kruger, and Ron Stroh.
