MRS.SAMUEL CAMPBELL DIES AT AGE OF 72

Mrs. Alice Moore Campbell passed away suddenly Saturday evening, February 4, 1933, at the home of her brother Daniel Kelly and twin sister, Nettie Kelly, east of Rossville, Iowa. She had been suffering from heart trouble for the past couple of years. She had finished her regular household duties and after putting in a fire, collapsed. Her sister found her lying on the floor but she had already passed to her eternal home.

Alice Moore Kelly, eldest daughter of William Morton Kelly and Sarah(Lewis) Kelly of this community, was born in Harrison County, Ohio, on November 29, 1860, along with her twin sister, Nettie Wilton Kelly.They resided there for a short time before they moved to Allamakee County, Iowa. On September 15,1895 she was united in marriage to Samuel Campbell at Waukon, Iowa at the home of Rev. R.L. Van Nice. They resided on the Campbell farm for a number of years before moving to Nebraska where they resided for 20 years. Mr. Campbell preceded her in death on July 8, 1932. Since his death she has made her home with her brother and sister.

The deceased was a faithful member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church, remaining always loyal in her support. Her life was ever cheerful, unselfish service and assisted tenderly in the care of her aged mother during her declining years. She brought much happiness and peace to all about her as ever ready with word of cheer and encouragement for all who came to her with their burdens. She had a keen and active interest in all things pertaining to community development. She was a loving wife and sister.

She is survived by her twin sister, Nettie, of this community, also her sisters, Mary Ettia, Mrs. Thomas Campbell of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Martha Marie(Mattie), Mrs. Albert H. Gast of Nora Springs, Iowa. Her brothers, Daniel Kelly and William H. Kelly of Waterville, Iowa and Jess Kelly of Waukon. Her brother Fred preceded her in death five years ago, and her brothers Benner and Moore, who died in childhood along with a sister Emily Eliza Jane Kelly. Alice has two step-sons living in Giltner, Nebraska, Melvin and Alexander Campbell. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Van Nice will be held at the Rossville Presbyterian Church with burial in the Rossville Cemetery.
