Ethel Elsie Fritz of rural Lansing died Thursday, May 25 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, where she had been a resident since 1982. She was 74.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 27 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Burial was in the Lansing Ridge Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She was born April 28, 1915 in New Albin to Leo and Lydia Meyer Fink and attended New Albin and Village Creek rural elementary school and high school in Lansing through the tenth grade. Oct. 20, 1932 she married Arthur J. Fritz in Waukon. He died Nov. 6, 1968. She worked as a cook at the Allamakee County Care Facility for many years and also did volunteer work at CCF and Veterans Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, John of St. Cloud, FL and Thomas of Waukon; six daughters, Linda Folsom of Waukon, Mrs James (Wanda) Christianson of Waterville, Mrs. Lyle (Marilyn) Larson of Lansing, Mrs. Larry (Carolyn) Homewood of Waukon, Mrs. Kim (Phyllis) Walsh of Lansing, and Mrs. Mark (Nancy) Reiser of Dorchester; 22 grandchildren, two brothers, Lester and Raymond Fink, both of Lansing; four sisters, Mrs. Dale (Dorothy) Foster of Prairie du Chien, WI, Mrs. Curtis (Betty) Gramlich and Mrs. Robert (Geneva) Johnson, both of Lansing, and Jeanette Rhode of Caledonia, MN; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Clark of Waukon.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty, in infancy; a granddaughter, Lisa Marie; and two brothers, Leland and LaVerne.

Casket bearers were Dave Christianson, Eric Fritz, Mike Miller William Regan Sr., Curtis Clark and Thomas Troendle.
