Dale Woodmansee, 73, died of a heart attack Saturday in his home. For 35 years, he worked for the federal government in civil serice at Washington, D.C., Fort Mead, Md., and the U.S. Embassy at London, England. Mr. Woodmansee also served 30 years in the Navy and Navy Fleet Reserve. He compiled information about Allamakee county cemeteries for a book he published in 1989 titled, Allamakee County, Iowa, Burial Grounds 1845-1988.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen; a daughter, Kay Woodmansee of Lehigh, Fla.; and a stepson, Dennis Kasten of Arlington, Va.
Memorial services: 1 p.m. Friday in Martin's, where there will be no visitation. The body has been cremated. Burial: Oddfellows Cemetery, Rossville.

Dale Palmer WoodmanseeMr. Woodmansee, 74, of Waukon, Iowa, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 18, 1989, at his home. Mr. Woodmansee was formerly employed by the Navy Intelligence Serivce, with 33 years' service, and was a member of the Federal Civil Serice serving in Washington, D.C., Fort Meade, Md., and at the U.S. Embassy in London, England. He wrote the book, "Allamakee County Iowa Burial Grounds, 1845-1988."
He was born Dec. 20, 1915, in Waukon, Iowa, the son of Isaac and Sophronia Woodmansee, and May 28, 1949, married Eleen Dunmire Kasten.
Surviving ar ehis wife and two children: Kay Lan in Florida and Dennis Dale Kasten of Arlington, Va. Interment was made in Waukon.

Dale Palmer Woodmansee, 73, died November 18, 1989 at his home in Waukon, Iowa. Memorial services have been set for 1 p.m.Friday, November 24 at Martin Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Henry Heinbuch will conduct the services. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rossville, Iowa with military graveside rites.
He was born December 20, 1915 in Waukon to Isaac E. and Sophronia (Palmer) Woodmansee. He graduated from Waukon High School, George Washington University in Washington D.C. and attended special courses at Naval Intelligence School and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. From November 16, 1933 to June 1, 1966, he served in the Navy specializing in communications and security. He had lived in Washington D.C.,Maryland,and Japan during the service and London, England before returning to Waukon in 1973. In addition to his 30 years in the Navy and Navy Fleet Reserve, he was also a member of the Federal Civil Service for 35 years serving in Washington D.C., Ft. Meade, MD and at the U.S. Embassy in London, England.
Dale married Alta Luella Bradley June 10, 1938 in San Diego, CA. They divorced May 21, 1948. May 28, 1949 he married Eleen (Dunmire) Kasten in Fairfax, VA. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 4; U.S. Navy Cryptologic Veterans Association, Association of Former Intelligence Officers, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, American Legion Post 62 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4117, both of Waukon, Iowa; USS Milwaukee Shipmates Association, The Phoenix Society, Somerset County Historical and Genealogical Society, Iowa Genealogical Society and the Clayton County Genealogical Society.
He was interested in genealogy and during the last seven years compiled information about Allamakee County cemeteries for a book just published titled, "Allamakee County, Iowa Burial Grounds 1845-1988."
Surviving are his wife, a daughter Kay Lan Woodmansee of LeHigh, FL, and a son Dennis Dale Kasten of Arlington, VA.
He was preceded in death by a son David who died in 1973, a sister, Donna, and a brother Boyd who died in 1983.
