David J. Strong, 30, of Madison, WI died Monday, June 16, 1995 at the University Hospital from complications with his second lung transplant.
He was born Nov. 14, 1964 in LaCrosse, WI, the son of John and Ruth Strong. David attended Madison Public Schools, graduating from La Follette High School in 1983. He received his Associate Degree in Commercial Art Technical College.
David loved life enough that he had two lung transplants in an attempt to lead a reasonably normal life. He had a lasting interest in art and especially loved drawing, he had several of his designs printed on jackets and T-shirts.
Dave always had so much love to give everyone close to him. He was a very special, caring and giving person, He will always be in the hearts and minds of those who loved him, He will be lovingly remembered for his smile and zest for life that kept him going.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his brothers, Dan (Marci) Strong, and Don (fiancee, Gina Lahmann) Strong; and two very special nieces, Samantha and Bethany Strong; his grandparents, Don and Ann Howland of Friendship, WI; grandmother, Minerva Strong of Lansing,(IA) as well as a number of people special to David, including aunts, uncles and cousins. Also among David's family and friends are special groups of doctors and nurses at University Hospital and a number of friends in his support group.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 30 at 1 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Gervase Zanotti presiding. Burial was in Roselawm Memorial Park Cemetery.
Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, was in charge of arrangements.
