BOARDMAN, Almeda C.

Mrs. O.H. Boardman died Monday morning, November 29, 1976. She was born September 16, 1890 in Arkansas, a daughter of William and Catherine (Jultz) Chapin. She was educated in the rural Allamakee County schools. She married O.H. Boardman March 17, 1910. To this union were born three children: Mrs. Frank (Lucille) McCormick of Harpers Ferry, Mrs. Dick (Vella) Harberts of Janesville, Iowa, and John Boardman of Monona, Iowa. Mrs. Boardman had lived in Waukon, spending most of her life in the Harpers Ferry area. For the last several years she had lived in McGregor. She was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church and the Rebekkah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband,one sister, and four brothers. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Grant (Ruby) Smothers of McGregor, and Mrs. Leonard (Helen) Hamilton of Davenport, Iowa, her children, 16 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Services were held at the Rossville Resbyterian Church with Rev. Roger Hawthorne officiating. The pallbearers were her grandsons Richard Boardman, James Boardman, John Decker, Milo Decker, Donald McCormick, and Earl McCormick.Interment was at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rossville, Iowa.
