Mrs. Selma Wild.

-------------

Selma Ellen Riser Wild was born in Lansing township, Allamakee county, Iowa, Feb. 21, 1881, and died at the Decorah Hospital Jan. 20, 1929, at the age of 47 years, 10 months and 29 days.

On Dec. 27, 1897, she was united in marriage to John Wild, who preceded her in death in 1903. To this union four children were born, who mourn the untimely departure of a good, kind and loving mother. They are Cleone of Church, Iowa, Mrs. John Stacey, Detroit, Mich., Lillian of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. F. O. Riser of Henderson, Colorado. Also six sisters, two brothers and two half-brothers as follows: Mrs. Albert Ross, Oakville, Wash.; Mrs. Fred Scharff, LaCrosse, Wis.; Mrs. John Long, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Phillip Roggensack, LaCrosse, Wis.; Mrs. Ben Feuerhelm, Church, Iowa; Mrs. Herbert Towl, Milwaukee, Wis.; Otto and Ben Riser, Henderson, Colo.; Will Riser, Long Beach, Calif. Two sisters, three brothers, one half-sister and two half-brothers preceded her in death.

The departed joined the Methodist Episcopal Church under the work of Rev. F. C. Grieve on March 5, 1916, to which faith she remained true to her end, and the church will miss her support. May her soul rest in peace.

The funeral was held from the home of her brother Otto, where she had been housekeeper since the death of her husband, at 11: a.m., Jan. 2 and at one o’clock at the Methodist Episcopal Church, New Albin, Iowa, the Rev. Arthur C. Prust officiating. Interment was made beside her husband in the New Albin cemetery.
