Cletus D. Bennett, 61, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in his home following a sudden illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 4 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, assisted with arrangements. Cletus Dale was born April 21, 1941, in Postville, to Earl and Vera Monnahan Bennett. He attended school in Lansing. On October 26, 1967, he married Theresa "Tari" Brown in Caledonia, Minn. He was a laborer at Longview Fibre for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife; four brothers, Lowell (Toni) Bennett of Antioch,
Calif., Robert (Tootsie) Bennett of Cedar Rapids, Richard (Pat) Bennett of Iowa Park, Texas, and Roger Bennett of Lansing; three sisters, Eva Ryan of Palatine, Ill., Charlotte (Elmer) Olsen of Cedar Rapids, and Joan (Kenneth) Alexander of Brooklyn, Iowa; his uncle, Don McMullen of Mercer Island, Wash;
two brothers-in-law, Lee H. (Brenda) Brown of Black River Falls, Wis., and Bill (Gail) Brown of Bangor, Wis.; five sisters-in-law, Betty Houle of Odanah, Wis., Kathryn Brown of Wausau, Wis., Ella Bigboy of Schofield, Wis., Beatrice Brown of Saxon, Wis., and Phyllis (Bruce) Tutor of Odanah; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his two pets, his dog, Paul, and his
cat, Precious. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Forrest, Cleve, and Milton Dean; an infant sister; mother- and father-in-law, Lee H. and Elizabeth Brown Sr.; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Leonard Bigboy. Memorial contributions may be made to Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion.
