Robert McGilligan

Robert E. McGilligan died June 14 at his home in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

A funeral mass was held June 17 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Clements Church, Fort Lauderdale. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Lauderdale.

Robert E. McGilligan, son of Thomas and Dorothy McGilligan, was born December 19, 1916, in Appleton, WI. He was a Technical Sergeant during World War II. He lost his sight while flying supplies to airborne troops who had landed behind the German lines.

In 1947, he married Eileen Schultz, formerly of Postville, at Appleton. They operated McGilligans Beer Depot in Appleton.

In 1948 they moved to Fort Lauderdale and operated McGilligans Office Supply.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Thomas.

Surviving are his wife, Eileen, Fort Lauderdale; a sister, Patricia, Newport, Oregon; two nieces, a sister-in-law, Ida, and four nephews.
