Nora McGeough

Nora McGeough, 91, of rural Harpers Ferry, died Sunday, May 14 at the Good Samaritan Center.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 16, 10:30 p.m. at St. Pius Church, Cherry Mound. Fr. Donald Hutchinson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She was born Nov. 28, 1897 in Allamakee County to William and Catherine Gavin Regan. She graduated from Elma High School in 1913.

She married Vince McGeough June 1926 at Elma. He died in 1979. She had lived in Howard and Allamakee Counties and was a member of St. Pius Church.

Surviving are 2 sons, Roy and Keith of Waterville; a daughter, Mrs. Dayton (Catherine) Jones, Harpers Ferry; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and a sister, Katherine Hemerson.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; 2 brothers, William and Joe and a sister, Gladys Clear.

Casket bearers were Marlin and Glen Jones, Mike McGeough, Ray Garin and Pat and Larry McGeough.
