Guy A. Barr, 88, of Postville, died Aug. 10, 1989 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI.

The son of Frank and Emily (Fish) Barr, he was born May 11, 1901.

Aug. 20, 1920 he married Violet Krousie at Waukon. Rev. R. L. Van Nice performed the ceremony. He was a lifetime area resident, living on the same farm near Forest Mills for 50 years.

He was active at Forest Mills United Methodist Church, where he held various church offices and was active in Sunday School and Bible School for 30 years.

Children surviving are Mrs. Walter (Dorothy) Gelo, Postville, Mrs. Leonard (Norma) Hanson, Zion, IL; also 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Donald (Eunice) Taylor, Waukegan, IL.

Pallbearers were Larry Gelo, Jim Gelo, Ed Erickson, Greg Johnson, Brian Johnson, Dale Roney.

Honorary pallbearers were Walter Gelo, Harva Oelberg, Marvin Flack, Leonard Hanson and Everett Bollman.
