George Edward Ingles 1878-1967

Funeral services for George Edward Ingles were held Friday afternoon, May 12, at 2 P.M. from the First Baptist Church, Waukon, of which he was a member, the Rev. Mr. Milton Dowden officiating. Mr. Ingles passed away May 9 at the Veteran's Memorial Hospital. He had been in ill health the past two years.
George Edward Ingles was born in Clayton County on August 22, 1878, a son of Samuel and Mary Bolsinger Ingles. He was married at Littleport, Ia. on Sept. 21, 1909 to Mildred Lamphere, who survives. They were farmers and lived in Littleport and Lansing. retiring and residing in Waukon since 1951. Survivors are eight children: Ernest and Arthur Ingels, Donna, Mrs. Theodore Rumph, all of Waukon; Agnes, Mrs. James P. Moorhouse, Coral Gables, Florida; Howard Ingles, San Corlas, Calif.; and Raymond Ingles, Portsmouth, Va. There are 35 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
Interment was in the cemetery at Mays Prairie with grandsons serving as pallbearers. They were Gary and Ronald Rumph, John Ingles, Robert Ingles, Floyd Ingles and Harold Heidemann. Martin Bros. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
