Walter K. Young of Cando, N.D., passed away at a hospital following a period of ill health and the infirmities of age. He was August 27. 1872, the youngest of twins, his brother Warren passing away a few years ago. They were sons of William D. Young, married twice with five boys and five girls in the first family. In the second family were Emma Greiser, New Albin, Mrs. Florence Purrington, Waukon and Richard D. Young of Newton, Kan. who died in August 1862 (sic, should be 1962).
Walter Young was married to Alvine Harms of Caledonia, Minn. and they farmed for many years near Perth, N.D. until failing health and age caused his retirement. He was the oldest* of the family and his father Wm. Young will be remembered by our older readers living west of town who was 89 years old when he died in 1918. Clarence and Lloyd Young of Auburndale, Wis. attended the funeral service.
