Funeral services were held at Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing Monday morning at nine-thirty for Miss Rose Wagner, 81, who passed away on Thursday at St. Francis Hospital following a nine month illness.
She was born June 3, 1885 at Lansing, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wagner and one of several children. She attended the parochial school and graduated from the public high school after which she attended business college in LaCrosse. She worked at several positions, one of which was in the office of the New Jersey Button Company here and for the past twenty-five years took care of the Wagner Grocery Store until it sold a few years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her brothers, Carl and Leo and one sister Clara, Mrs. Pat H. Welch, all of Lansing and another sister, Malinda, Mrs. James O'Malley of Volga, besides a number of nieces and nephews.
Rt. Rev. Msgr. Victor Hintgen offered the Mass of Requiem and said the final prayers at the graveside in Gethsemane Cemetery where interment was made in the family lot. Honorary pallbearers from the Rosary Society were mesdames Eugene Brennen, Leo Krieger, Frank Plagge, Mike C. Mullarkey, Lena Troendle and Miss Vernie Fest. Active gasket bearers were Jim Wagner, LaCrosse; Nick and Mark Wagner, Robert Welch, George Lee and Jim Powers of Lansing and vicinity. Among the out of town relatives here for the funeral service the Earling Omdahls, Decorah; Marie Wagner, Brownsville, Minn. and Dorothy Wagner, Germantown, Wis.
