The death of Mrs. Alma P. Fitzgerald, 87, of Waukon, occurred Monday, August 4, at the Good Samaritan Home. Last rites were held Thursday at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Msgr. Frederic Heles officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
She was born November 17, 1886 in Wauzeka, Wis., to Frank and Mary Higgins Garrow. She was married in 1920 to William Fitzgerald who died in 1933. Following the death of her husband, she carried on the family business of plumbing and heating, until her retirement a few years ago. She was a member of the Wa Tan Ye Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She attended St. Mary's Academy in Prairie Du Chien.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Jean Ann) Abernathy, Elgin, Ill; one grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Francis Wheeler of Waukon.
Martin Bros. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
