Funeral services were held Saturday, April 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church for John H. Beardmore, 89, of English Bench in Union township.
He was born May 12, 1887 to Alfred and Emma Bulman Beardmore on English Bench and he spent his entire life on the home farm.
Mr. Beardmore was a farmer all his life. He never married. He was educated in the local schools and took a course in business in Iowa City.
Surviving are a brother, Judge Thomas A. Beardmore of Charles City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Art and Earl and a sister Daisy.
Mr. Beardmore passed away at his home on Tuesday evening, March 29.
The Rev. James A. Parker officiated at the services, with burial in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were all grand nephews, George Beardmore, Thomas J. Beardmore, Bradley Herman, Lyle Mohwinkle, Greg Mohwinkle and Ralph Mohwinkle.
Martin Funeral Home of Waukon was in charge of the arrangements.
