Mrs. Frieda J. Mathis of Lansing, died on Saturday, April 2, at the Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She had been a patient there for about one week.
She was born on October 29, 1896 in Lansing to John and Rose (Ringenbach) Wendler. On June 8, 1926 she married Leo F. Mathis in Lansing.
Survivors are two sons, Vincent and William, both of Waukon: two daughters, Mrs. Cyril (Jean) Corrigan of Decorah and Mrs. David (Lorraine) Bangs of Ames; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974, and by three brothers and seven sisters.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing, the Rev. Carl Manternach officiating. Interment was in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clarence and Cyril Knopf, Donald Stirn, James Keenan, Robert Smith and Robert Sweeney.
