William Clark Gleisner

William Clark Gleisner, 80, of Geneva passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services were held Friday, June 11 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hampton, with Fr. Bernard Grady officiating the service. Burial will be at a later date at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Waukon.

William was born March 24, 1930 in Waukon to Otto P. “Colby” and Edith Mae (Clark) Gleisner. He graduated from Waukon High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

William married Mary Kay Simon May 8, 1954 in Waukon. He worked for 47 years with Cornbelt Power in Hampton as an electrician. William was an active member at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hampton. He was a long-time member of AA. William enjoyed fishing, car racing, and tinkering in the garage. He also enjoyed sitting on the porch with his dog, running errands for his son, Matt, spending time with his family and his coffee group at Hardee’s.

William is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Gleisner of Geneva; his son, Matthew Gerard (Diane) Gleisner of Geneva; daughters, Paige (Greg) Gough of Manchester, MA and Jennifer Anne Gleisner Brown of Geneva; and son, Thomas Clark (Amani El Obeid) Gleisner of Ames; his sister, Jean Ann (Keith) Mason of Waukon; and grandchildren, Chloe Brown, Devin Brown, Maazin Gleisner, Ayah Gleisner, Brigitta Gough and Anthony Gough. He was preceded in death by his parents.
