Henry Althoff

Henry Althoff Jr. was born in Greeley, Iowa Feb. 20, 1894, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Althoff, and passed away at St. Francis Hospital, LaCrosse, Oct. 27 from a heart ailment. In 1908 the family moved to Lansing where he lived until after his marriage on Jan. 29, 1918, to Miss Anna Teeling.
The family moved to a farm near Greenwood, Wis. where they lived until 1935 when they moved to their present farm one mile south of Bangor, Wis., which has since been their home. Survivors include his wife and nine children, Mary, Milwaukee, Wis.; Second Lt. James, an air corp pilot stationed in Italy; Anna Mae, LaCrosse; George, Rosella, Madonna, Donald, Leo and Henry, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Althoff, Dubuque, where only brother Alexander also lives.; one sister, Mrs. Frank Weipert, Livingston, Mint. (sic) and a grandson at home. One sister, Mrs. John Zeimet Jr. preceded him in death ten years ago.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Mary's church, Bangor, Wis. at 8:30 with the Rev. Hugo Koehler offering the Mass of Requiem. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery at LaCrosse.
Among out of town relatives and friends attending the last rites were George and Edward Kann, Stratford, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barr, Greenwood, Wis.; Mrs. Peter Zabolitzky, Lansing, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Teeling, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Teeling, Mrs. Gilbert Meyer, Mrs. John Zeimet, Mrs. Mary Morgan, Mrs. Wm. Backes, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Althoff, Mr. Henry Althoff, Miss Frieda Hoefer, all of Dubuque; Mrs. H.J. McLaughlin, Milwaukee; George Teeling and Mrs. Charles Cooper, Waukegan, Ill.; Ed Haas, Mrs. Elsie Haas, and Mrs. Edward Duggan, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ferring, Mrs. Clarence Haas, Mrs. Francis Zoll and daughter Donna, all of Waukon; Mr. and Mrs. Will Troendle and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Howe, Lansing.
