"J.P. Becker was called to Minneapolis Sunday by a telegram announcing that his daughter, Mrs. Jas. Riley who had been a victim of typhoid for several weeks, was very low and not expected to live. He left on a freight in the afternoon but did not reach her before she died sometime that night. Death was the result of a relapse. She was the mother of eight children. Burial took place at Minneapolis this morning. Henry and Miss Lucy, brother and sister of the deceased, joined the father there yesterday, the mother being prostrated at her home in this township over the sad affair and unable to attend the funeral. The sympathy of all who know them go out to the sorrowing husband, motherless little ones and other relatives in this greatest of all earthy losses."
