Funeral services for Diane Ellis were held Friday, February 11, 2005, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. The Reverend Allen Hermeier officiated. Casket bearers were Roger Bollman, Daryl Szabo, Kevin Ellis, Kent Ellis, Jeff Lange, Jim Bursell, Loren Eberling, and honorary bearers were Linda Szabo, Brenda Bostrom, Julie Sahlern, Joni Ohloff, Danny Bollman, Steve Lange, Sandy Eberling.
Diane Marie (Lange) Ellis was born November 27, 1945, in Postville, Iowa, to Kenneth Virgil Lange and Marian Frances (Owen) Lange. She passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2005, in the Gundersen Lutheran Health Care Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She had reached the age of 59 years, 2 months, and 11 days.
She was baptized in the Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona, Iowa and confirmed on December 16, 1973, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, by the Reverend Norman Ullestad. Diane attended the Luana Consolidated School and graduated in 1964. She attended a business college at Davenport, Iowa.
On June 27, 1970 Diane was married to Gary Ellis in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville by the Reverend Norman Ullestad. They lived in the Postville area, where Diane was employed in the Dietary Department as head cook for the Good Samaritan Center in Postville for over 35 years.
Diane had a caring, soft-spoken and loving personality. She loved dogs, cats and all of God's creatures.
Diane was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Northgate Care Center in Waukon, beginning July 24, 2002, and on July 1, 2003, Diane entered the Prairie Health Care Center at Prairie Du Chien, WI, where she received dialysis.
She is survived by her husband, Gary, who is a resident of Makee Manor at Waukon, a sister, Peggy (John) Rothmeyer, Postville, two sisters-in-law, Darlene Lange, Postville, and Joyce Lange, Luana, and a brother-in-law, Leo Bollman, Volney, IA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Marjorie Bollman, two brothers, LeAllen Lange and Bennett Lange, and two nieces, Judy Mueller and Janet Lange.
